Mehdi Farajpour (1980 - )
Mehdi FARAJPOUR is an interdiciplinary conceptual artist who has started his artistic career in theatrical studies from Fine Art university. At the meantime he took some courses in Modern and contemporary dance. After years being previously familiar with yoga, he got hatha yoga mastership degree. The topic for his final thesis in university was creating a method to be used as performer`s everyday exercises.
In 2002, he established an international borderless performing arts group called “Oriantheatre_performing art`s group” with aims to focus on performer`s -spritually & physically - concentration power while performing on the stage. His book entitled ”The Monk performers“ is conclusion of his personal and practical experiances on this subject.
Besides investigation, his classes has been organized in “AZAD” university of Tehran, “Acting high school” and “Independent acting institute” while his stay in Tehran.
Since 4 years ago, he started traveling all around the world to share his ideas through collaboration with individual artists as well as international companies. Occasionally he presents some of his solo or group performances in international festivals. The countries where he has been collaborating or teaching his classes are India, Poland, Iran, South Korea, France, Turkey, Germany, Finland, etc.
