Varesh Darvish
Film Maker, Video Editor, Performer & Butoh artist
born in Iran, 1984
She started her performing arts activities as an actress in an experimental space
(not in an academic hard and dry atmosphere) since 2003. She was accepted in some universities in
Tehran for several times but declined to register there, because she`d rather to be an experimental
artist not only by academic documents. Basically She determined to experience everything from
backstage before starting to play on the stage. For that sake she started to cooperate with some
professional theatre and performance groups in Tehran. Then she left for London in order to take a
course there for a year. After she came back to Iran she became familiar with Mehdi Farajpour in an
experimental performance repertory in Tehran. Since 2006 she started to take some lessons of
Hathayoga and contemporary dance under supervision of Mehdi. At the same time duration,
she joined to “Oriantheatre” international performing art`s company and Then collaboration was
began with performing a dance-theatre called “Suddalaiyadi” in India and also in Tehran. Her perfect
